Is ACL Surgery Recovery Hard?
ACL surgery recovery varies from person to person. No two people recover in exactly the same way or in the same amount of time.
Some people will say it’s very hard and others will say it isn’t that hard at all. For me, recovery was hard work, but it always felt good to be working toward recovery.
What I mean by that is yes, recovery was a lot of hard work… but when you finish your exercises for the day, you really feel good about it. Your body might be tired, but it just feels really good to do the work know that your normal life is on the other side of it.
ACL surgery recovery is harder in the beginning than at the end if you are talking about it pain-wise. However, you are working a lot harder at the end of the recovery. The workouts are more vigorous and take longer.
Thinking about returning to sports without limitations was a big motivator for me and kept me going. You should find something that helps motivate you to keep working hard on recovery.

How often did you do your exercises? My physiotherapist wants me to do them 4 times a day, but I don’t really have that much time now that I’m back to work!
I did the exercises 5 times a day.
As you go along the exercises change and you won’t do all of them 5 times a day. You will for the first few weeks though. Or you should.
